In order to use your domain, you need to create at least 1 record.

We will describe what record is used for what service

A record - most common DNS record , used for linking domains and IP adresses.
CNAME record - This record is mostly being used for 2 domains connection.
MX record - Needed record if you want to have mail service for your domain. It helps email messages to find it destination.
TXT records - This records have multiple needs. They are used for email signings with SPF , DKIM , DMARC, any type of domain verification and more.
